Benefit to user:  Allows you to turn off the water pressure at the end of the pressure hose so you to not have to make trips back and forth to the machine.  The operator has to turn the water pressure off in order to change tools or wands.  Let me give you an example:  If the machine is on the first floor and I am cleaning on the second floor.  I just finished prespraying with my Injection Pre-Sprayer.  I have to go down stair to turn the machine off >  then go upstairs and change the sprayer to my carpet cleaning wand > go down stairs to turn the machine pump back on > go up stairs to go back to work.  I am tired before I even get to start rinsing off the carpet cleaner prespray.  Now with the ball valve(s) installed: The quarter turn of the ball valve turns the water pressure off behind the female brass quick disconnect > I squeeze the trigger on the sprayer to release the pressure (one second pull) > I change out to my carpet wand > turn the water pressure back to the on position on the ball valve.  Without ball valves a few minutes of labor, with a few seconds.
