Hello,

I am looking to start the new business very soon. Need an advise as to which equipment to choose. Here is what I need: portable extractor, with adjustable pressure up to 1500 psi (carpet and hard surface cleaning), heated, min. 75 ft hose. Which machines would you recommend and why?

Thanks a lot

Well (almost) all machines that have over 200 psi worth of pressure have a pressure regulator included so the pressure would be adjustable. The only place you get into problems is with getting a unit to 1500 psi.

Typical tile and grout extractors have a 1200 psi adjustable pump, but in order to run 75ft of hose successfully, you would need at least 6 total stages of vacuum. The difference being the amount of electricity you would need to draw would probably exceed the electricity you would have available in your average home, without running either a dryer adapter (http://www.steam-brite.com/store/parts-accessories-electrical-adaptor-c-3_453.html), or electric generator.

That being said, most portable tile and grout extractors are 1200 psi, with 4 stages of vacuum for that reason (with 4 stages of vacuum, you could run 50 ft of hose, max). BUT! We do make what we call a "universal vacuum booster (http://www.steam-brite.com/store/universal-vacuum-booster-p-4832.html)" that would give you an extra 3-stages worth of suction to any machine using a standard 6in screw in type lid (http://www.steam-brite.com/store/6inch-waste-tank-universal-p-4436.html).

Also! The needed amount of electricity to heat up water to a significant degree at pressures over 1200 psi are ludicrous due to the sheer volume of water that you're pushing out, it isn't exactly feasible for an electric heater to do, you would need a propane system (http://www.steam-brite.com/store/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=propane+heater ), or a stand alone pressure washer (http://www.steam-brite.com/store/equipment-hard-floor-pressure-washers-c-46_5.html) to accomplish that alone.

In the end, it looks as if you would either need to get the Mytee M12 extractor (http://www.steam-brite.com/store/mytee-tile-grout-extractor-p-4649.html), with the universal vacuum booster (http://www.steam-brite.com/store/universal-vacuum-booster-p-4832.html), and a propane heater (http://www.steam-brite.com/store/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=propane+heater ) to accomplish the job, or you would need to bite the bullet and transfer into the investment of a truckmount (http://www.steam-brite.com/store/equipment-carpet-cleaning-truck-mounts-machine-c-1_410.html).

I like the Mega 3 extractor for it has 6 stages of vacuum, a large 20 gpm dump pump and does not require team lifting or a ramp because it is lightweight. Use an 1500 psi electric water pump like the HTTP://www.steam-brite.com/store/electric-pressure-washer-p-4902.html because you can use indoors and large commercial buildings and when you have outside access, use a heater like HTTP://www.steam-brite.com/store/britestar-industrial-heater-p-4937.html The entire project would cost about $4,000 but really would work well.

Thank you.

I will be checking the options you suggested. Do you know anything about Rotovac and how does it work on commercial projects?

Power wands, including the rotovac use lots of water. Because of this you need a machine with auto fill and dump and losts of vacuum (at least 6 stages). Rotovac is expensive, you might want to look at the SM100 Spinn Master wand.
