I recently bought a Mytee 2003 from a texas outlet. Within the first 5 uses the wand broke. within the next 5 uses after replacing the broken peice of the wand, it now sprays water out the bottom of the unit when ever the pump is turned on. There are no dealers in alaska where I live. Does any one have any idea how I might fix this problem. I cannot see where it is leaking from unless it is directly out of the pump or possibly from the plumbing underneath most of the components.
Has any one else had this kind of expreiance with MyTee products? the one place I can take it where they will fix it will not even give me an estimate on fixing it (not affiliated with MyTee). They say that this is normal for MyTee products.. I have little faith in this companys ability to fix my unit or tell the truth about any product they sell as they have lied and misrepresented them selves to me already.
Any help would be appreciated. I have a $2000.00 useless cleaner.

Sorry about you misfortune. Did you know that Mytee does not make any wands? They take bids from metal fabrication shops and out source all of their welding work. In fact that is what most distributors do as well! Even though you might have purchased a Mytee machine with a hose set and wand, the distributor you purchased the equipment from might be using a totally different metal shop than Mytee does. The wands only come with a 90 day warranty unless you purchased the three year parts and labor option. This is also true with other manufactures as well.
The second issue, is that the machine will be heavily damaged if it freezes. Most all manufactures use the same components for their machines. For example: the pumps are manufactured from PumpTec and the vacuum motor are from Lamb Corp. Whether you purchase a Mytee or another brand, these same components would have ended up inside your machine. The main difference is who molded the plastic and bolted the unit together. I would agree with you about picking on Mytee if your problem ends up being housing related. But if it has to do with the water pump or vacuum system, your bad luck is just that, bad luck.
I can tell you that from a statistical point of view, Mytees break down more often than other brands because there are more Mytees in the field. The average of number of units that need service to the number in use ratio, you will find Mytee units do not need any more service than any other brands. I have been selling Mytee extractors since the company began its inception, and they do attempt to upgrade their equipment designs every year. Finding the leak will have to be a process of elimination. If the leak is not caused by a loose hose clamp, more than likely some component is going to need to be replaced.
There will not be a simple solution to finding the leak, you are going to have to start taking the unit apart until you find the broken part. If the unit is less than 90 days, the dealer you purchased the unit from might be able to arrange to warranty the machine for you. The warrantee will not cover shipping or labor. I know you feel that Mytee makes junk, but I really think you just got a poor luck of the draw. If you need more help, please fill free to email me at info@steambrite.com .
