What This Part Does

The unloader valve is one of the most important safety and pressure control parts on a pressure washer. When the spray gun is closed, the unloader redirects water flow into bypass instead of allowing pressure to build against the pump. A worn, sticking, or incorrectly adjusted unloader can cause pressure fluctuation, low pressure, pump cycling, overheating in bypass, or hard starting.
