You darken the room(s) the best you can. Purchase an extra pair of UV protection and location glasses (one for you and one for your customer). This is important because the radiation emitted by this frequency will cause cataracts as a senor citizen. The reflected UV will show two different things. Optical brighteners and body fluids (like pet urine). This is where the Hydro Shark comes in. The Bio-Hazard light will flash and sound off if the spot is urine but will not sound off if the spot is optical brightener. Here is what can happen. If a pet urinates on the carpet, the home owner might use an over the counter cleaner to clean the spot "Resolve." These spotters contain Optical Brighteners. If you are just using the UV light, you cannot tell if the spot you are looking at is a cleaned dirt spot or a cleaned urine spot. Until a formulated Urine Pre-Treatment Pre Spray like Knock Out is used and the carpet professionally rinsed, the Hydro Shark will be able to detect old urine stains and spots. Even if years old!
