How can we clean the back of he carpet and padding without lifting the carpet?

You will need to know where these spots are located so you need to use body fluid detection equipment UV light and then confirm it is urine with Urometer. All items are available for rent from Steam Brite or you can hire us to do this for you. We have some links and a video below to better let you understand this service and for you to determine if you want to try this on your own.

Procedure:

Once you locate the problem areas.
Locate with the UV Light and confirm it is urine with the Urometer.
You can optionally mark the carpet with white chalk.

We take a 5 gallon bucket. Fill it about half way with super hot water. You want to take hot water and then microwave it or add it to a pot on the stove. Fill a 5 gallon pail half way with this super hot water. Add a cup of Pounce and a cup of Knock Out to your bath. Stir with a wood paint stick. Pour onto the contaminated areas. Yes pour, not spray. The idea is to reach the contamination.
Agitate as needed. Allow to soak for 30 minutes.
Next you will have to take a carpet cleaning extraction machine and vacuum the moisture back out of the floor with the use of a Water Claw. Once the Water Claw sub surface extraction is service is complete, you can clean the carpet as normal.

Site Requirements: Electricity, hot water, working stove, working Air Conditioning. You will have to run the AC or heater on 68 degrees F with the blower motor on "On" for 3 days to ensure all the humidity and moisture are removed from the home. Ceiling fans also recommended but not required. The carpet will fill dry to the touch in less than 24 hours but you are required to run the AC/Heat for 3 days.

Questions: Is it possible that the service could end up costing more than $0.50 a sq ft?
Answer: Yes. It is always possible that you should consider adding the Topical pet treatment or Carpet Sanitization service too for an extra $0.25 per sq ft. Some customer have dye stains that they want work on like Kool-Aid or similar difficult marks.

What type of guarantee or warranty does the service include?
Answer: First we have the customer perform a final walk through with the technician and confirm that the carpet is as clean and reasonably odor free. We want to make sure that we will not have to come back. You are paying for the procedure and not the results. This is an odd statement to hear and say. When you go to the doctor and have surgery, you have to pay for the procedure and not the results. If the surgery is unsuccessful and you need additional work, you will have to pay for these additional services. This service is not treating the walls, cabinets, and air ducts, and was a treatment from the top of the carpet and not a service with the carpet removed. Will we come back? Yes we will. Each customer receives a 7 day written warranty on this service but it is always possible you might be required to pay for a service call, more labor, more materials, more procedures. The idea of this service is aggressive restoration without carpet removal or re-installation work. It does work extremely well.

Question: Will 100% of all the stains be removed?
Answer: No, usually 99% of them are but it is possible that some damage can only be repaired through replacement or carpet sectioning a new piece in that area.

Question: Do you flood the entire home?
Answer: No, only the urine soaked areas and areas of contamination, but all the carpet is cleaned

Question: What if I do not have electricity or water at the job site? Can I still get this done?
Answer: No. How are you going to get the carpet to dry in less than 24 hours without removing the humidity? It is not OK to open the windows and think this is going to dry the carpet. The only time it would be OK to open the window is of the relative humidity out side is under 25% and the temperature is between 65 and 75 degrees. Here in San Antonio, Texas that is a small window of opportunity.

Question: Can this service be done upstairs where we have a wood sub floor.
Answer: Yes, the application is done with a watering can (like you water plants with). The service is still deeper than regular carpet cleaning but not aggressive as pouring. When carpet replacement is not in the budget this is a great alternative and works super well. Please let the operator know you might need us to bring a watering can on the truck if you have a two story home.
