Tips and Additional Information

• Always Test Outlets First: Test both wall outlets with a receptacle polarity tester before use to confirm the building was wired to code.
• Phase Requirements: The unit requires two separate electrical phases (one left phase and one right phase) from your breaker panel to function properly. Press the momentary phase location button; a bright green light confirms correct phase connection.
• Tesla Owners Note: For some Tesla models, you may need to manually lower the amp draw charge setting on the onboard computer from the default 32 amps down to 240 volts / 16 amps for safe and efficient operation.
• Adjustable Chargers: When using adjustable-speed EV chargers (such as 32-amp models) with this converter box, set the output to 16 amps @ 240 volts.
• Surge Protection Option: Optional factory-installed 600 Volt, 80,000 Amp surge protection (Square D HEPD80 Whole Home Electronics Protective Device) is available for advanced surge suppression.

Questions and Answers

Q: Why did my converter box not work when I plugged it into two outlets?
A: The power supply box must be plugged into two different electrical phases (one left phase and one right phase) in the home. Randomly selecting two outlets may land you on the same phase. Use the momentary phase location button and look for a bright green light confirmation, or ensure outlets are connected to opposing circuits.

Q: Can this unit be used on GFCI or LDCI outlets?
A: No, this product is explicitly not for use on GFCI or LDCI 115/120 volt outlets.

Testimonials

"I primarily purchased the converter box solely for charging my Tesla vehicle when I find myself visiting friends or family whom do not have a 220v outlet I can use. The converter purchased from your website has been extremely convenient, I simply keep it in my trunk, so I always have it when I need it. The cords are extremely long, and the charge time is significantly shorter than a regular 110v outlet; I would definitely recommend this product to others. Thanks." — Jared, Moreno Valley, CA

"I use this to power my portable EVSE. (With a 32 amp adjustable EV Car charging cable) I recently got a (electric Genesis) GV60 and picked up the power joiner to hold me over until the electrician could install a 14-50r. Now I keep it in the car in case I need to charge while at my girlfriends or visiting friends or family. Product works great once you find a matching pair of sockets. I've used it on 15 and 20 amp circuits and have had no issues." — Lawrence
