Delivering up to 4800 watts (under 20 amps) at 240 volts, this reverse converter provides fast and convenient Level 2 charging for electric vehicles and high-powered equipment when standard 240V outlets are unavailable.

Features

• Combines two standard 120V power sources into a 240V NEMA 14-50R output supporting up to 20 amps (4800 watts) of single-phase current.
• Features dual 12-3 by 25-foot heavy-duty power cords equipped with triple 20-amp push breakers for enhanced operational safety.
• Integrated green LED voltage notification and phase confirmation button to verify correct outlet phase pairing prior to use.
• Electrical isolation design ensures the open male plug on the second cord remains unpowered until both cords are connected, preventing accidental shock.
• Compact, durable plastic enclosure measuring 6" x 6" x 4" with protective rubber feet on the bottom.
• Built-in phase testing mechanism ensures proper dual-phase building electrical alignment before appliance operation.

Applications

• Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) charging on the go.
• Compatible with Chevrolet Equinox EV, Bolt EV, Bolt EUV, Blazer EV, Silverado EV, and Tesla models (Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X, Roadster).
• Compatible with numerous plug-in hybrids and EVs from Audi, BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Porsche, Rivian, Volkswagen, Volvo, and more.
• Powering high-amperage portable equipment including pressure washers, welders, plasma cutters, and vapor steam cleaners when 240V outlets are absent.

Tips and Additional Information

To operate this converter box successfully, the two power cords must be plugged into separate electrical phases within the building. Most residential properties feature alternating left and right breaker phases; plugging both cords into outlets on the same phase will prevent the unit from functioning. Always test wall receptacles with a 3-wire polarity tester before use. Press the momentary phase location button on the box; a bright green light confirms that you have landed on correct opposing phases. Note that this unit is not compatible with GFCI or LDCI 115/120V outlets. For Tesla owners, remember to manually lower the onboard computer amp draw charge to 16 amps at 240V to optimize charging speed safely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is this converter compatible with GFCI outlets?
A: No. This power supply unit is not for use on GFCI or LDCI 115/120V outlets. Standard non-GFCI wall receptacles must be used.

Q: Why does the green voltage notification light fail to illuminate?
A: If the green light does not turn on when you press the momentary test button, your two power cords are plugged into outlets sharing the same electrical phase. Simply relocate one of the power cords to a different room or wall outlet until the green confirmation light glows bright green.

Q: What vehicle settings should be adjusted when charging a Tesla?
A: Tesla owners may need to manually lower the amp draw charge setting on their vehicle's onboard computer from the default 32 amps down to 240 volts at 16 amps.

Customer Reviews & Testimonials

"I primarily purchased the converter box solely for charging my Tesla vehicle when I find myself visiting friends or family whom do not have a 220v outlet I can use. The converter purchased from your website has been extremely convenient, I simply keep it in my trunk, so I always have it when I need it. The cords are extremely long, and the charge time is significantly shorter than a regular 110v outlet; I would definitely recommend this product to others. Thanks." — Jared, Moreno Valley, CA

"I use this to power my portable EVSE (with a 32 amp adjustable EV Car charging cable). I recently got an electric Genesis GV60 and picked up the power joiner to hold me over until the electrician could install a 14-50R. Now I keep it in the car in case I need to charge while at my girlfriend's or visiting friends or family. Product works great once you find a matching pair of sockets. I've used it on 15 and 20 amp circuits and have had no issues." — Regards, Lawrence

Warranty & Safety Information

Includes a standard 1-year manufacturer warranty covering material and workmanship defects. Warranty coverage is contingent upon proper operation within specified electrical ratings. Conditions that void the warranty include operating the unit above maximum amperage or voltage ratings (exceeding 20A / 4800W at 240V), attempting operation on incompatible GFCI/LDCI circuits, improper phase connection attempts, physical damage to cords or housing, and unauthorized modifications. Always test wall receptacles with a polarity tester prior to connection to ensure building wiring complies with electrical codes.
