Clean Storm 20220923, Chevy Bolt EUV Converter Travel Box, Level 2 Electric Charger, Dual 20amp 120v To 240v, 14-50R

Description

The Clean Storm Chevy Bolt EUV Travel Box is an advanced power cord adapter inverter (reverse converter) designed to take two separate 120-volt outlets and convert them into a single 240-volt, 4-wire NEMA 14-50R receptacle. Engineered for single-phase current, it safely supplies power to 240-volt appliances and electric vehicle chargers drawing under 20 amps at 240 volts (under 4800 watts). This portable charging solution serves as a fast and efficient Level 2 charger for the Chevy Bolt EV, Bolt EUV, Tesla, and numerous other plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles when dedicated 240-volt wall outlets are unavailable. Built into a durable 6" x 6" x 4" plastic housing with rubber feet, it features dual 12-3 x 25 ft power cords, triple 20 amp push breakers, and a built-in green light voltage confirmation indicator. Until both 120-volt power cords are securely plugged into energized electrical sources, the open male plug on the second cord remains electrically isolated to protect users against accidental shock.

Features

• Converts dual 20 amp 120-volt outlets into a 240-volt NEMA 14-50R receptacle for portable Level 2 EV charging and high-powered equipment.
• Equipped with dual 12-3 x 25 ft heavy-duty power cords and integrated triple 20 amp push circuit breakers for reliable overload protection.
• Features a convenient voltage test button and green notification light to confirm proper phase connection (220V to 240V range) before use.
• Electrical isolation design ensures the open male plug on the second cord is inactive until both cords are plugged in, preventing accidental shock.
• Compact and portable housing measuring 6" x 6" x 4" with protective rubber feet on the bottom for stable placement.

Applications

• Emergency and travel Level 2 charging for electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids including the Chevy Bolt EV, Bolt EUV, Equinox EV, Blazer EV, and Tesla models.
• Powering portable pressure washers, welders, plasma cutters, vapor steam cleaners, and other high-powered 240V equipment on job sites.
• Providing 240V supply access in residential, commercial, or remote locations where standard NEMA 14-50 receptacles are not installed.

Tips and Additional Information

Understanding Phase Requirements: To make the power supply box work, it must be plugged into two different electrical phases in a home or building. Residential panels alternate phases down each column of breakers (Left-Right-Left-Right). If you plug into two outlets on the same phase, the indicator light will not illuminate bright green. To correct this, relocate one cord to a different outlet, or alternatively, turn off the main breaker and shift one of the circuit breakers up or down one position in the panel to change its phase.

GFCI / LCDI Compatibility Note: This unit is not designed for use on GFCI or LCDI 115/120-volt outlets. If necessary, standard wall receptacles should be used.

Tesla and EV Settings: When charging certain vehicles like Tesla or adjustable EVSE units, manually lower the on-board charger amp draw setting to 16 amps at 240 volts to match your power source capacity safely.

Question and Answer section

Q: I plugged the two cords into different wall outlets in the same room, and the green light did not come on. Why?

A: Outlets located close to each other in the same room are frequently wired to the same electrical phase. The converter box requires two separate phases (one left phase and one right phase) to produce 240V. Try moving one of the power cords to a different room or a separate circuit on a different wall until the indicator light shines bright green.

Q: Can I use this adapter on GFCI outlets?

A: No. This power supply box is not for use on GFCI or LCDI 115/120-volt outlets.

Testimonial section

"I primarily purchased the converter box solely for charging my Tesla vehicle when I find myself visiting friends or family whom do not have a 220v outlet I can use. The converter purchased from your website has been extremely convenient, I simply keep it in my trunk, so I always have it when I need it. The cords are extremely long, and the charge time is significantly shorter than a regular 110v outlet; I would definitely recommend this product to others." — Jared, Moreno Valley, CA

"I use this to power my portable EVSE (with a 32 amp adjustable EV Car charging cable). I recently got an electric Genesis GV60 and picked up the power joiner to hold me over until the electrician could install a 14-50r. Now I keep it in the car in case I need to charge while visiting friends or family. Product works great once you find a matching pair of sockets. I've used it on 15 and 20 amp circuits and have had no issues." — Lawrence, Clifton, NJ
