Professional Air Filtration for Restoration and Construction
The Clean Storm Super Scrub 500 AS110001 is a compact commercial HEPA air scrubber designed to continuously pull contaminated air through its filtration system and return filtered air to the work area. It can also be connected to ducting and used as part of a negative-air containment system.
Its variable-speed fan allows the operator to balance airflow, noise, filter loading, and electrical consumption for the job. The lightweight portable design makes it suitable for restoration contractors, carpet cleaners, remodeling crews, maintenance departments, property managers, and indoor-air-quality professionals.
Common Applications
Water-Damage Restoration
Helps filter airborne dust, fibers, spores, and debris disturbed during demolition, drying, and cleanup. |
Construction and Remodeling
Use during sanding, drywall work, flooring removal, demolition, and general dust-producing projects. |
Negative-Air Containment
Connect suitable ducting to help exhaust filtered air from an isolated work area. |
Odor-Control Projects
Use with the appropriate optional activated-carbon filter when reducing nuisance odors and gaseous contaminants. |
Commercial Air Cleaning
Useful in offices, schools, hotels, workshops, warehouses, and occupied buildings where supplemental particulate filtration is needed. |
Fire and Smoke Cleanup
Helps capture airborne particulate matter during properly managed restoration procedures. |
Two-Stage Filtration System
Stage 1: G4 Prefilter
The first-stage prefilter captures larger dust and debris before they reach the more expensive HEPA filter. Replacing the prefilter regularly can improve airflow and extend HEPA-filter service life.
Stage 2: H13 HEPA Filter
The primary H13 HEPA filter captures extremely fine airborne particulate matter. HEPA filtration is commonly rated to capture at least 99.97% of particles measuring 0.3 micron under controlled test conditions.
An optional activated-carbon filter may be added for applications involving nuisance odors and certain gaseous contaminants. Carbon-filter effectiveness and service life depend on the contaminant, concentration, humidity, airflow, and exposure time.
Airflow Ratings Explained
The Super Scrub 500 is rated at approximately 500 CFM with clean filters installed and no ducting attached. The approximately 800 CFM figure refers to unrestricted airflow without filter resistance and should not be treated as the normal filtered operating airflow.
Actual jobsite airflow will vary according to filter condition, filter type, duct length, duct diameter, bends, containment pressure, voltage, and other restrictions.
Built-In GFCI Auxiliary Outlet
The onboard GFCI-protected outlet allows compatible equipment to be connected through the air scrubber when electrical capacity permits. The outlet is rated for approximately:
- 12 amps available when the air scrubber is turned off
- 10 amps available when the air scrubber is operating
Always calculate the total circuit load before connecting additional equipment. Do not exceed the rating of the building circuit, extension cord, GFCI outlet, or connected equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an air scrubber or a negative-air machine?
It can perform either function. Operate it within the room as an air scrubber, or connect appropriate ducting and exhaust filtered air outside the containment area to help create negative pressure.
Does it include a HEPA filter?
Yes. A primary H13 HEPA filter and a first-stage prefilter are included and installed in a new unit.
Is the normal airflow 500 CFM or 800 CFM?
The practical filtered rating is approximately 500 CFM with clean filters and no attached ducting. The 800 CFM figure represents unrestricted airflow without normal filter resistance.
Can several units be connected together?
The built-in GFCI auxiliary outlet can power compatible downstream equipment when the combined amperage remains within the outlet and building-circuit limits. Always verify the entire electrical load before daisy chaining.
Can it remove odors?
The included particulate filters are intended primarily for airborne particles. An appropriate optional activated-carbon filter is normally required for odor-control applications.
How often should the filters be changed?
There is no universal replacement interval. Inspect filters before and during each job. Replace the prefilter when visibly loaded, damaged, wet, contaminated, or when airflow declines. Replace the HEPA filter when damaged, contaminated, wet, unable to pass required testing, or when airflow remains restricted after replacing the prefilter.
Can it be used for mold, asbestos, lead, or hazardous materials?
Air scrubbers are commonly incorporated into professional containment plans, but the machine alone does not make a project safe or compliant. Hazardous-material work must follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, approved work practices, personal-protective-equipment requirements, containment procedures, filter-disposal rules, and clearance-testing requirements.
Important operating notice:
Do not operate the unit in standing water, rain, explosive atmospheres, or where electrical components may become wet. Do not use a damaged cord or plug. Filters may contain hazardous material after use and must be handled and disposed of according to the contaminants present and all applicable regulations.
