Replacement fan-motor run capacitor for select DriStorm, Suntec, Nikro, and Abatement Technologies commercial dehumidifiers.

This capacitor helps the dehumidifier fan motor start and run efficiently by providing the electrical phase shift required by the motor. A weak or failed capacitor may prevent the fan from starting, cause slow fan operation, or make the motor overheat.

Possible Symptoms of a Failed Fan Capacitor

Fan motor hums but does not start
Fan starts only when manually assisted
Fan runs slowly or inconsistently
Dehumidifier has weak airflow
Fan motor overheats or shuts off
Capacitor housing is swollen, cracked, leaking, or heat damaged
Capacitance tests outside the acceptable tolerance range

Diagnostic note: Weak airflow may also be caused by a dirty filter, obstructed coil, damaged fan wheel, failed motor, loose wiring, or control-board problem. Test the capacitor and inspect the fan system before replacing parts.

Terminal and Lead Configuration

Depending on available factory production, this capacitor may be supplied with attached wire leads or with standard 1/4-inch male spade terminals. Either version may be used when the electrical specifications and connections match the original application.

Package Includes: One 16 µF fan-motor capacitor, as pictured or an electrically equivalent factory replacement.

Not Included: Fan motor, wiring harness, mounting bracket, control board, dehumidifier, or other repair components unless specifically shown.

Installation Safety

Disconnect the dehumidifier from electrical power.
Allow the machine to remain unplugged before opening the cabinet.
Properly discharge the existing capacitor before touching its terminals.
Photograph and label all wires before disconnecting the old capacitor.
Install the replacement using the same wiring arrangement as the original.
Secure the capacitor so it cannot contact fan blades or moving components.
Reinstall all protective covers before restoring power.

Electrical hazard: Capacitors can retain an electrical charge after the machine is unplugged. Installation should be performed by a qualified service technician familiar with capacitor discharge procedures and electrical testing.
