Why This Filter Is Important

The recovery tank collects dirty water along with lint, hair, carpet fibers and other debris. The blower inlet filter forms an important barrier between that debris and the vacuum blower. Operating with a missing, damaged or severely clogged filter may reduce airflow and can allow contamination to reach more expensive truckmount components.

Possible Signs of a Clogged or Damaged Filter

Reduced vacuum or water-recovery performance
Slower drying times
Restricted airflow
Vacuum blower operating at a higher temperature
Vacuum-relief system activating more frequently
Torn, crushed or separated filter media
A warped frame that no longer fits or seals correctly

Cleaning and Maintenance

Turn off the truckmount and allow the system to stop completely.
Remove the filter from the waste or recovery tank.
Remove loose lint and debris from the filter surface.
Rinse the filter with clean water as needed.
Allow the filter to drain before reinstalling it.
Replace the filter if the media, frame or seal is damaged.

Inspect the filter regularly and clean it before airflow becomes restricted. Cleaning frequency will depend on the type of carpet, debris level and amount of daily use.
