The PMF S1540 Long-Handle Stair Tool is a professional stainless-steel carpet extraction wand designed for cleaning carpeted stairs, recreational vehicles, motor homes, trailers and other confined carpeted areas where a full-size carpet wand can be difficult to maneuver.
Its 30-inch overall length provides substantially more reach than a conventional short stair or upholstery tool while remaining compact enough for stairways and tight working areas. The 9-3/4-inch-wide stainless-steel pickup head provides a wide cleaning path for faster coverage of stair treads and other carpeted surfaces.
Open-Spray Stair Wand Design
The S1540 uses an open-spray configuration, allowing the technician to see the spray pattern while cleaning. Cleaning solution is applied directly ahead of the stainless-steel vacuum pickup head and is then recovered through the extraction system.
The open-spray configuration makes the S1540 an excellent choice for applications where spray visibility and straightforward serviceability are preferred.
PMF V1-EZ 1,000 PSI Forged-Brass Valve
Current production PMF S1540 stair tools are equipped with the PMF V1-EZ forged-brass solution valve and are rated for professional carpet-cleaning systems operating at pressures up to 1,000 PSI.
This makes the S1540 suitable for use with many professional portable carpet extractors and truckmount carpet-cleaning systems, subject to the pressure and connection requirements of the individual cleaning system.
9-3/4-Inch Stainless-Steel Pickup Head
The 9-3/4-inch pickup head provides considerably more cleaning coverage than narrow upholstery and detail tools. Its stainless-steel construction is designed for professional cleaning applications and provides a durable vacuum recovery surface for repeated use.
The wand tube is 1-1/4 inches and expanded to 1-1/2 inches at the vacuum connection to accept a standard 1-1/2-inch vacuum hose.

S1540 vs. S1540C
The PMF S1540 is the open-spray version of PMF's 30-inch stainless-steel long-handle stair tool. The PMF S1540C uses a closed-spray configuration designed to provide additional control of the solution spray around walls, stair risers and nearby surfaces.
Choose the S1540 open-spray model when spray visibility and easy access to the spray system are preferred. Consider the S1540C closed-spray model when reducing overspray in confined areas is the greater priority.
Important: The solution-line quick disconnect is not included with the S1540. Select the appropriate quick-disconnect fitting for your extractor or truckmount separately.
