The PMF S1540C Closed-Spray Long-Handle Stair Tool is a professional stainless-steel carpet extraction wand designed for cleaning carpeted stairs, recreational vehicles, motor homes, trailers and other confined carpeted areas where a conventional full-size carpet wand can be difficult to maneuver.

The S1540C is the closed-spray version of the PMF S1540. Instead of leaving the solution spray exposed behind the vacuum head, the S1540C incorporates an enclosed stainless-steel spray chamber around the spray area. This helps contain and direct the cleaning solution toward the carpet while reducing unwanted overspray onto nearby surfaces.

Closed-Spray Stainless-Steel Head

The defining feature of the S1540C is its closed-spray design. A stainless-steel enclosure surrounds the spray area behind the pickup head while leaving the bottom open toward the carpet for application of the cleaning solution.

Compared with an open-spray stair wand, the enclosed configuration can provide several advantages when working in confined areas:

• Helps reduce overspray onto walls and stair risers
• Helps keep cleaning solution directed toward the carpet
• Provides improved spray control around furniture and finished surfaces
• Protects the spray jet inside the stainless-steel enclosure

30-Inch Long-Handle Design

At approximately 30 inches long, the S1540C provides considerably more reach than a conventional short stair or upholstery tool while remaining substantially more compact than a full-size carpet wand.

This intermediate size makes the S1540C particularly useful for carpeted stairs and detail cleaning. The technician can clean stair treads without relying on a very short hand tool, yet the wand remains maneuverable enough for confined spaces.

9-3/4-Inch Stainless-Steel Pickup Head

The S1540C uses a 9-3/4-inch-wide stainless-steel pickup head. The wide cleaning path provides greater coverage than narrow upholstery and detail tools and is well suited to the width of many residential and commercial stair treads.

The tool is constructed from stainless steel, including the head, with stainless-steel hardware for durability in professional hot-water carpet extraction applications.

PMF V1-EZ 1,000 PSI Forged-Brass Valve

Current-production PMF S1540C stair tools are equipped with the PMF V1-EZ forged-brass solution valve and are rated for pressures up to 1,000 PSI.

This makes the S1540C suitable for use with many professional portable carpet extractors and truckmount carpet-cleaning systems, subject to the pressure, temperature and connection requirements of the individual cleaning system.

1-1/2-Inch Vacuum Hose Connection

The stainless-steel vacuum tube is 1-1/4 inches and expands to 1-1/2 inches at the hose connection, allowing the tool to accept a standard 1-1/2-inch carpet-extractor vacuum hose.

PMF S1540C Closed Spray vs. S1540 Open Spray

The S1540C and S1540 share the same basic 30-inch professional stair-wand platform, but the spray-head configuration is different.

Choose the S1540C closed-spray model when reducing overspray around walls, stair risers, furniture and other nearby surfaces is important. Choose the S1540 open-spray model when maximum visibility of the solution spray and easy access to the spray system are preferred.

Important: The solution-line quick disconnect is not included. Select the appropriate quick-disconnect fitting for your extractor or truckmount separately.
