The PMF S1540SV Swivel-Head Stair Tool is a specialized professional carpet extraction wand designed to make it easier to clean carpeted stair treads, stair risers, edges, corners and other confined carpeted areas.

Unlike a conventional fixed-head stair wand, the S1540SV incorporates a rotating swivel connection between the wand tube and cleaning head. After cleaning the horizontal stair tread, the operator can rotate the cleaning head into position for the vertical stair riser without having to twist and reposition the entire wand.

Swivel Head for Stair Treads and Risers

The defining feature of the S1540SV is its swiveling pickup head. The head can be rotated independently from the upper handle, helping the technician position the extraction head against different surfaces and angles encountered while cleaning stairs.

This design is particularly useful for:

• Cleaning horizontal carpeted stair treads
• Cleaning vertical carpeted stair risers
• Working along stair edges and corners
• Reaching confined carpeted areas
• Cleaning around furniture and obstacles
• Detail carpet extraction where a full-size carpet wand is too large

30-Inch Ergonomic Stair-Wand Design

At approximately 30 inches long, the PMF S1540SV provides substantially more reach than a conventional short upholstery or stair tool while remaining compact enough for maneuvering on stairways.

The curved upper tube and padded assist handle provide multiple gripping positions during cleaning. This configuration helps the technician guide the wand while rotating the swivel head between stair treads, risers and other cleaning positions.

Open-Spray Single-Jet Cleaning System

The S1540SV uses an open-spray configuration with one brass Vee jet. Cleaning solution is applied directly to the carpet immediately ahead of the vacuum pickup head, where the solution, suspended soil and moisture are recovered by the extraction system.

An open-spray design also provides easy visual access to the spray jet for inspection, cleaning and replacement.

PMF V1-EZ 1,000 PSI Forged-Brass Valve

Current PMF factory specifications identify the S1540SV with the PMF V1-EZ forged-brass solution valve rated to 1,000 PSI. This makes the tool suitable for use with professional portable carpet extractors and truckmounted carpet-cleaning systems operating within the wand's pressure rating.

Important: Older literature and dealer listings may show earlier versions of the S1540SV with lower-pressure valve specifications. Current PMF factory literature identifies S1540SV as the 1,000 PSI open-spray version with the V1-EZ valve.

Optional PMF AC33-S1540 PTFE Glide

The standard S1540SV does not include a PTFE/Teflon glide. PMF offers the optional AC33-S1540 glide for the open-spray version of this swivel stair tool.

The glide can reduce direct metal contact with the carpet and may make the head easier to move across certain carpet constructions. PMF specifies this glide for the open-spray S1540SV; it is not specified for the closed-spray S1540SVC.

Choose the S1540SV open-spray version when easy spray-jet access and the availability of the optional PTFE glide are desirable. Consider the S1540SVC closed-spray version when additional spray containment around walls, stair risers and nearby finished surfaces is preferred.

Quick Disconnect Not Included

The PMF S1540SV does not come standard with a carpet-cleaning solution quick disconnect. Select the appropriate male or female solution fitting for the hose and equipment with which the wand will be used.
