The PMF S1540SVC Swivel-Head Closed-Spray Stair Tool is a professional carpet extraction wand designed specifically for cleaning carpeted stair treads, vertical stair risers, edges, corners and other confined carpeted areas.

Its distinguishing feature is the swiveling cleaning head. Instead of repeatedly twisting the entire wand and the operator's arms while moving between horizontal stair treads and vertical risers, the cleaning head can rotate into the required working position.

The S1540SVC is the closed-spray version of the PMF S1540SV swivel stair tool. A splash shield encloses the spray area to help control solution application and reduce unwanted overspray around walls, stair risers, trim, furniture and other nearby finished surfaces.

Swivel Head for Stair Treads and Risers

Traditional fixed-head stair wands can require substantial repositioning when alternating between horizontal stair treads and vertical risers. The PMF S1540SVC allows the cleaning head to swivel independently of the upper wand position.

After extracting the stair tread, the technician can rotate the head into position for the riser. This makes the tool particularly useful for repetitive professional stair-cleaning work.

The swivel-head configuration is useful for:

Closed-Spray Cleaning Design

The S1540SVC uses a closed-spray configuration. The spray area is enclosed by a stainless-steel splash shield while remaining open toward the carpet so cleaning solution can reach the surface being extracted.

This configuration helps keep the spray directed toward the carpet and can reduce accidental overspray onto surrounding surfaces.

A closed-spray stair wand can be particularly useful when working close to:

• Painted stair risers
• Walls and baseboards
• Wood trim
• Furniture
• Finished flooring adjacent to carpet
• Other surfaces where overspray should be minimized

30-Inch Ergonomic Stair-Wand Design

At approximately 30 inches long, the S1540SVC provides substantially more reach than a conventional short upholstery or stair hand tool while remaining compact enough to maneuver on residential and commercial stairways.

A padded assist handle provides an additional gripping point for controlling the wand and swivel head during extraction.

Single Brass Vee Spray Jet

The S1540SVC uses a single brass Vee spray jet to apply cleaning solution immediately ahead of the extraction opening.

Solution is sprayed toward the carpet inside the closed-spray area and is then recovered, along with suspended soil and moisture, through the vacuum pickup head.

PMF V1-EZ 1,000 PSI Forged-Brass Valve

Current-production PMF S1540SVC stair tools use the PMF V1-EZ forged-brass solution valve and are rated for operating pressures up to 1,000 PSI.

This is an important update from older versions and older product literature that identified the S1540SVC as a 500 PSI tool using the previous V2P valve.

S1540SVC Closed Spray vs. S1540SV Open Spray

Choose the S1540SVC closed-spray version when controlling overspray around walls, trim, furniture and other nearby surfaces is a priority.

Choose the S1540SV open-spray version when an exposed spray configuration is preferred or when you want the option of installing PMF's AC33-S1540 PTFE glide.

Quick disconnect fittings are not included with this tool. Select the appropriate solution-hose quick disconnect separately for your carpet extraction system.

PTFE glide note: PMF specifies its optional AC33-S1540 glide for the open-spray S1540SV only. It is not available for the S1540SVC closed-spray configuration.

Older literature may describe the S1540SVC as a 500 PSI tool equipped with a V2P valve. Current PMF factory specifications identify the S1540SVC as a 1,000 PSI closed-spray stair tool equipped with the V1-EZ forged-brass valve.
