The Shurflo 8000-912-288 is a commercial 115-volt, 3-chamber diaphragm water pump commonly used in portable carpet extractors, upholstery cleaning machines, spotting machines, and other professional cleaning equipment.

Its combination of an automatic pressure switch and internal bypass helps provide smoother operation when using carpet cleaning wands and upholstery tools. The pump automatically cycles as solution demand changes, while the bypass helps reduce excessive pressure-switch cycling and pulsation.

Why an Internal Bypass Matters

A carpet extractor does not always use the pump's full water output. Small upholstery jets and restricted carpet-cleaning jets can create a low-flow condition. The internal bypass allows part of the pump's output to recirculate when required, helping reduce rapid pressure-switch cycling and providing smoother solution delivery.

This makes the 8000-912-288 particularly well suited for carpet extraction, upholstery cleaning and spotting equipment.

Replacement & Repair Parts

Repair components are available for many Shurflo 8000 Series pumps, including pressure switches, check valves, pump heads and valve assemblies. Repairing the existing pump can sometimes be more economical than replacing the complete pump.

Installation Note
