The Howden / Dresser Roots 45 URAI is a rotary positive displacement blower commonly used in truckmount carpet cleaning vacuum systems and other compatible carpet cleaning applications. The URAI design uses grease lubrication on the drive end and oil lubrication on the gear end.

Important Application Note

These blowers are sold for use in the carpet cleaning industry only. Some OEM equipment uses special coatings, mounting holes, fan mounts, or custom configurations. For example, this blower is not drilled and tapped for certain Easy Air Package applications. Use outside carpet cleaning applications cannot be guaranteed.

Mounting and Rotation

Default shaft orientation is left hand. The unit can be mounted with the drive shaft positioned top, bottom, left, or right by relocating the mounting feet and ensuring the breather port is moved to the top. The blower can be operated in either rotation direction when properly configured.

Maintenance Reminder

• Oil level must be checked and topped off before use.
• Change oil after the first 50-hour break-in period.
• Change oil every 200 hours after break-in.
• Use the correct blower oil and grease specified for your blower model and production date.
