This Karcher / Legacy / Shark 18mm ceramic plunger kit is used to repair one damaged, cracked, or worn ceramic plunger sleeve in select Karcher, Legacy, Shark, Hotsy, and Landa style pressure washer pumps.

Important: Most triplex pumps use three plungers. If you are replacing all plungers in the pump, order 3 kits.

One 18mm ceramic piston / plunger sleeve
One plunger bolt
One O-ring
One copper spacer / seal

When Should This Be Replaced?

Cracked or broken ceramic plunger sleeve
Water entering pump crankcase
Milky, cloudy, or caramel-colored pump oil
Premature seal failure caused by damaged ceramic surface
Pump head removed and ceramic plunger damage is visible

A damaged ceramic plunger can quickly ruin new seals and may allow water to contaminate the pump oil. If pump oil appears milky or tan, stop using the machine and inspect the pump before additional crankcase damage occurs.

Is this one plunger or a full pump set?
This is one kit for one cylinder. Order 3 kits for a full 3-plunger pump repair.

Should I replace seals at the same time?
Usually yes. If the ceramic plunger is cracked, worn, or grooved, the high-pressure and low-pressure seals may also be damaged.

Why did my pump oil turn milky?
Milky or caramel-colored pump oil usually means water has entered the crankcase. A cracked ceramic plunger or failed seals are common causes.

Can I install only one kit?
Yes, if only one plunger is damaged. However, inspect all three plungers and seals while the pump head is removed.

Description

Cracked or broken ceramic piston sleeves can cause further pump damage if not repaired immediately. Some pump damage can be so extensive as to require replacement of the entire pump. Identification of broken or cracked ceramic plunger sleeves can be difficult, however one sign to look for is milky or caramel colored pump oil, which indicates water has entered the pump body and mixed with the pump oil.

This 8.753-823.0 Ceramic Piston Sleeve Repair Kit includes all components necessary to replace the ceramic plunger for one pump cylinder. Included in the kit is: one ceramic piston sleeve, one piston / plunger bolt, one o-ring and one copper spacer.
