Dissolve Urine Salts Before Applying an Enzyme
Harvard Chemical Flush Out is a professional urine-decontamination pretreatment formulated to dissolve and liquefy urine salts and heavy dried urine deposits. Removing or loosening these deposits allows the contaminated area to be cleaned, rinsed and treated more effectively with an enzyme or bacterial urine digestant.
Urine contamination can penetrate beyond the visible carpet fibers and collect in the carpet backing, cushion, upholstery padding, tack strip or subfloor. As the liquid dries, mineral salts become concentrated and may continue attracting moisture and releasing odor. Flush Out helps break up those deposits as the first step in a complete urine stain and odor treatment process.
Important: Flush Out is a urine salt pretreatment. It is not an enzyme, disinfectant or complete one-step odor remover. For best results, clean and rinse the area after pretreatment, then apply a compatible enzyme or bacterial urine digestant.

Actual coverage depends on the depth, age and size of the contamination and whether the urine has penetrated the carpet cushion, upholstery padding or subfloor.
Directions for Use
- Locate the full extent of the urine contamination.
- Test the carpet, rug, upholstery or other surface in an inconspicuous location for colorfastness and material compatibility.
- For routine urine-removal jobs, mix one part Flush Out with three parts water.
- For extremely heavy urine salt deposits, the product may be used full strength.
- Liberally apply the solution to the contaminated area.
- Allow the product to dwell for approximately 5–10 minutes.
- Clean the area thoroughly with the appropriate detergent.
- Rinse with fresh water or perform hot-water extraction.
- After cleaning and rinsing, apply a compatible enzyme or bacterial urine digestant to treat remaining organic contamination.
Mixing example: To make one gallon at a true 1:3 ratio, combine approximately 32 fluid ounces of Flush Out with 96 fluid ounces of water.
