Frequently Asked Questions
Does this product only cover odors with perfume?
No. It combines fragrance with odor-neutralizing ingredients and quaternary compounds to help control the source of objectionable odors rather than functioning only as a fragrance spray.
Can it be added to a carpet extractor?
It may be added to compatible carpet-cleaning or extraction solutions at approximately 4 to 6 ounces per gallon. Confirm compatibility with the other chemical being used and follow the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.
Can it be sprayed directly onto carpet?
Yes, when the carpet or fabric is water-cleanable. Dilute according to the odor severity, apply a controlled mist, and test for colorfastness before treating the entire area. Avoid excessive overwetting.
Is this an enzyme treatment?
No. Harvard Chemical 702 is a deodorizer fortified with quaternary compounds. It is not the same as an enzyme-based urine or organic-waste digesting product.
Is this product a disinfectant or sanitizer?
This product should be sold and used as an odor-control deodorizer. Do not represent it as an EPA-registered disinfectant or sanitizer unless the container label displays an applicable EPA registration number and expressly provides those claims and directions.
Should the odor source be cleaned first?
Yes. The best results are obtained by removing as much odor-causing contamination as possible before applying the deodorizer. Odor treatment should not replace proper cleaning and removal of contaminated material.
