Choosing the right tile and grout spinner wand size:
To professionally pressure wash outside you are required to pick up the water. This also gives you the ability to pressure wash indoors for tile and grout cleaning.
What size pump to you have? How many gallons per hour can your pump push? Cleaning speed is max psi (pounds per square inch) X (times) max GPM (gallons per minute) = Cleaning units/ speed.
NOTES:
Area under a 12" cleaning tool 113.04 sq inches. Examples Turboforce TH40, Hydroforce SX12, Mytee 8904, Typhoon 12, Westpak 20-0440, (Most common for portables and cleaning systems offering up to 1200 psi at 2 gpm)

Area under a 15" cleaning tool 176.7 sq inches. Examples: Turboforce TH15, Hydroforce SX15 AW105 (Most common for truckmounts, industrial portables (Goliath GO-1500), hybrids truckmounts, synergystic cleaning using 1500 psi at 2.1 gpm)

Area under a 17" cleaning tool 226.97 sq inches. (Most common for truckmounts, medium pressure washers offering 1700 psi @ 3 gpm)

The 17" tool has 28.96% more surface area under the tool over a 15" tool and 100% more area under a 12" tool, but you have to be able to spin the spray bar faster in order to still clean faster.
If I take a 15" cleaning tool like the TH15 or the and supply it with 1500 psi, a nozzle at a 20 degree angle that is 1.5 inches above the ground will move forward at a certain miles per hour forward. That same nozzle at the same angle and distance from the floor will move a larger diameter tool spray bar forward at the same miles per hour. But now because the tool is larger it will take longer to make each revolution. If you do not spin the bar faster you will have to walk slower or the cleaning can 'tiger stripe' the cleaning surface. Compare a 17" tool cleaning at 1700 psi now the spray bar spins faster and you will clean 29% more sq feet per hour over a 15" tool and 100% faster than a 12" diameter tool.
If I take a 1500 psi pump and use it on a 17" tool because the spray bar takes longer to go around the tool, I have to move the tool slower over the floor, thereby offering little to now net benefit in cleaning speed. The key is the larger the tool, the more pressure and gpm you need to make that tool work faster.
Is it safe to cleaning tile and grout at 1700 psi? Yes.
Do we have any customers that clean tile and grout at pressure over 1700 psi? No. This is the highest pressure used for inside work. For outside concrete flat work customer use 2000 to 4000 psi between 3.1 to 8 gpm, again depending how fast they want to work.
If you own or use a larger pressure washer or truckmount that can produce 1700 psi @ 3 gpm this is Turboforce HT777LP is a dramatically faster tool!

Factories will post lower minimum psi and gpm to get you to purchase the tool. Using tools at a lower pressure will make the spray bar turn too slow thereby making the tools cleaning speed too slow for most cleaners.

Default solution hose when not a metal tube or lance that is installed between the trigger gun and spinner swivel is 3000 psi @ 250 degrees F unless otherwise noted.
Currently the chart only has the spinner style tools that included vacuum air water recovery. Fixed jet, hand held tools, and non vacuum recovery tools are not included in study.
