PMF CV20A-400 18-Inch External-Spray Crevice Tool with 400-PSI Aluminum Valve
Clean narrow spaces that conventional upholstery tools and carpet wands cannot reach. The PMF CV20A-400 combines a slim stainless-steel vacuum pickup with an external solution spray and a trigger-operated aluminum valve. Its narrow profile is ideal for detailed extraction cleaning beside vehicle seats, between cushions, along carpet edges and in other confined areas.

External Spray for Precise Detail Cleaning
The exposed spray outlet applies cleaning solution directly in front of the narrow vacuum pickup. This open-spray configuration allows the technician to see where the solution is being applied and immediately recover the loosened soil and moisture.
Unlike a vacuum-only crevice tool, the CV20A-400 provides both solution application and vacuum recovery. It is intended for controlled cleaning of narrow areas rather than broad upholstery surfaces.
Common Applications
- Automotive carpet beside seats and center consoles
- Narrow spaces between removable upholstery cushions
- Carpet edges, seams and perimeter areas
- Along baseboards and beside permanently installed objects
- Detail cleaning where a standard upholstery tool is too wide
- Confined areas requiring both solution spray and vacuum recovery

Important Pressure Information
The 400-PSI specification is the maximum pressure rating of this valve configuration. It is not a recommendation to clean every material at 400 PSI.
Because the CV20A-400 uses an open external spray, begin at a low cleaning pressure and increase it only as required. Select the pressure, water temperature and cleaning chemical according to the material being cleaned. Always test delicate upholstery and colorfastness in an inconspicuous area before proceeding.
Control the spray carefully around electronics, switches, seat controls, foam-backed materials, seams and other areas that could be damaged by overspray or excessive moisture.
What Is Included?
- One genuine PMF CV20A-400 external-spray crevice tool
- Factory-installed 400-PSI aluminum trigger valve
- Factory-installed high-pressure-model solution whip hose
Not Included: Quick disconnect, vacuum hose, main solution hose, extractor and cleaning chemicals.
Quick Disconnect Required
A quick disconnect is not included because carpet-cleaning systems may use different male or female solution-hose configurations. Select the fitting that matches your existing hose and extractor setup.
Important Model Identification
Order by the complete part number CV20A-400. PMF manufactures several similar-looking crevice tools with different valve materials, pressure ratings and spray configurations.
- CV20A-400: External spray with a 400-PSI aluminum valve
- CV20B: External spray with a 500-PSI brass valve
- CV20-ST: External spray with a 1,000-PSI stainless-steel valve
- CV15: Vacuum-only crevice tool without a valve or spray system
Do not substitute another version based only on appearance. Confirm the complete part number, valve rating and spray configuration before ordering.
Connection and Operating Instructions
- Turn off the extractor and completely relieve solution-line pressure.
- Connect a compatible vacuum hose to the tool.
- Install the correct quick disconnect and connect the solution whip to the solution hose.
- Inspect the valve, whip hose and fittings for leakage before cleaning.
- Begin with controlled heat and low solution pressure.
- Increase the pressure only as required for the material and soil condition.
- After use, rinse chemical residue from the solution path and relieve stored pressure before disconnecting or storing the tool.
